Pilot training has developed into a large industry. Because our skies are full of various types of aircraft, pilot safety is very important and the US federal aviation administration (FAA) is our supervisor.

Tussle for airspace

Humans have been fascinated with flying as long as humans have recorded history. Over the past 100 years for today’s private pilot training today has become one of the largest businesses in the world today. Icarus and Daedalus started this trendm on the plane. Daedalus wants to implement testing and training before flying. Icarus because of its framework to enjoy indiscrection night time with certain fair women so forced to fly without prior testing. The decision made by the two ancient inventors which they immediately regretted.

There are international organizations that are similar to the FAA. The joint aviation authority (JAA) is located in Europe and other Oriental organizations that have copied many FAA requirements set for all private pilot training plus airport operations, repair stations, overhaul stations, and all general maintenance operations. They have even followed guidelines for loading gasoline and jet fuel flights that fall under the mandatory scope of all international organizations.

The latest addition to the grace of our overcrowded skies is the many varieties of radio controlled (RC) unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). FAA certified pilots who have been personally trained, USAF or Navy trained pilots who will have gone through and strict training schools. Many private UAV pilots will have a commercial flight or military background. Unfortunately to say “barnstorming” a day has long since passed. Today a skilled pilot sits in front of a computer to fly a UAV, many times from thousands of miles away. A good example is Creech AFB located in Nevada.

Nevada pilots often fly UAVs based in places as far away as Iraq or Afghanistan. They will also fly UAVs locally to get private pilot training, limited to restricted areas (due to FAA regulations). It is hoped in the future that they will be allowed someday, by the FAA, to be able to fly over local places such as Peoria, Tulsa, Oklahoma, Small Town, Illinois, United States, or be used along international borders to find transients that cross borders to bring back (or send in real time) video footage from this border crossing.

All UAVs have the same attributes that will be found on manned aircraft; wings, Landing Gear, rudders, tails, an engine, elevators, propellers, fuel tanks, brakes, and pilots. Despite being a remote pilot, real pilots are overseas operations. Instrument aircraft are all operated on the ground, and data is sent from the UAV using onboard sensors.

Different types of UAVs in size from the average eagle for the wing span that reaches more than 60 feet, which is much larger, for example, the Cessna 150. An added bonus to UAV designers and is passionate that the safety of the pilot is guaranteed to produce extraordinary savings of millions of dollars.

Even though the United States government plans to spend millions of dollars over the next few in purchasing UAVs. General Aciation desperately needs private pilot training to serve many manned aircraft that will grace our skies.

The high cost of SOC crude oil has shackled private pilot traingin in recent years, but now oil appers to take a price reduction. Should this trend continue that must go a long way towards greater interest in private pilot training. One thing for sure is that interest in piloting aircraft will never die.
